Our History Is Defined By Our Ability To Reinvent, Grow & Transform With Our Clients
The journey of Preston PA Services started in early 2017. I’d put my career on hold to bring up my children and was looking to return to the world of work. I always liked the prospect of having my own business as I wanted the freedom and flexibility to make my own decisions. Still, I wasn’t sure how to utilise my office management expertise. With self-employment becoming a growing sector, research showed that small business owners and entrepreneurs found the cost of hiring staff often out of reach. It seemed that by offering a flexible approach and quality service, I could help grow their business, maintain a better work-life balance, and realise my dream.
With only a limited budget, I took the plunge and launched Admin Extra Solutions. Having no previous experience running my own business was a steep learning curve. Taking a hot desk at the Propeller Hub within the University of Central Lancashire proved invaluable. Here, I was able to access much-needed mentoring as well as being able to interact with other small business owners. With perseverance, I slowly began to grow and gain confidence.
Every business needs to grow and evolve; mine was no different. Initially, most of my clients came to me by word of mouth; this was great, but I needed a website that would work for me. I decided to change to a WordPress website, ensuring that content changes would be easy to make. Around the same time, a client suggested that a name change would benefit me.
Taking a deep breath, I decided to rebrand. Early 2019 saw the launch of Preston PA Services. The gamble paid off as I gained several new clients with varying requirements and budgets within the first year. The clients wanted a whole range of services – these included bookkeeping, sending out client briefings, and booking exhibition spaces at conferences nationwide. One client even wanted help writing a book!
Today Preston PA Services continues to evolve. With the Covid pandemic in 2020/2021 and the ongoing cost of living crisis, like many other business owners, we’ve had to re-evaluate the direction of the business. We continue to support our clients and very much look at them as family.
